ABOUT<<PASSPORTPHOTOGURU<INC

The compliant, convenient, economical way to get ID photos

We believe nobody should pay studio prices — or risk a rejected application — for a photo a phone can take. Passport Photo Guru turns everyday selfies into government-compliant passport, visa and ID photos in seconds.

Our mission

Millions of passport and visa applications are delayed every year because of a non-compliant photo: a shadow on the background, a head measured two millimeters too small, a file five kilobytes too large. Meanwhile, retail photo counters charge $14.99–$17.99 for two small prints of a photo taken in thirty seconds.

PassportPhotoGuru Inc exists to fix both problems at once. Our goal is simple: to be the best ID photo service on the internet — compliant enough that your application sails through, convenient enough to finish on your phone in two minutes, and economical enough that the whole thing costs less than a coffee.

How we keep photos compliant

A magnifying glass over an ID photo revealing measurement guides, beside official government documents
Every preset encodes the official specification — head size, margins, background, digital file limits — from primary government sources.

Each document preset is built directly from the issuing authority's published rules — the U.S. Department of State's composition template, USCIS form instructions, the Chinese Embassy's COVA specifications, the Indian Visa Online upload rules — and we cite those sources on every page so you can verify them yourself.

Our AI is deliberately conservative: it replaces the background, balances lighting, and crops to the official geometry, but it is explicitly instructed to never retouch, reshape or beautify your face. Government guidance warns against altered photos — so a tool that makes you "look better" is a tool that gets your application rejected. We optimize for acceptance, not for flattery.

What you get for $2.99

  • Free preview first — you see the exact watermarked result before paying anything.
  • HD digital photo at the exact pixel dimensions and file size your application portal requires.
  • Print-ready sheets in standard retail sizes (4×6 to 8×10), tiled at true 300 dpi physical size, in JPG and PDF.
  • Printing guides for Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and Target so the print costs cents, not $17.

Privacy is part of the product

An ID photo is sensitive data. Uploads travel over encrypted connections, are stored encrypted, are used solely to generate your photo, and are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours. We never use your photos for AI training, marketing, or anything else. No account is required, and we keep no personal profile. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card details. Read the full privacy policy.

Who we are

Passport Photo Guru is built and operated by PassportPhotoGuru Inc, a small team of engineers who got tired of overpaying for photos that still got rejected. We're not affiliated with any government agency or retailer — our only job is making your photo pass.

What we stand for

  • Value 1

    Compliant, above all

Every preset is built from primary sources — the U.S. State Department, USCIS, embassy and visa-portal specifications — down to head-height millimeters, background shades and file-size windows. Our AI is instructed to never beautify or alter your face, because a natural photo is a compliant photo.

  • Value 2

    Convenient by design

No appointment, no studio, no account. A phone selfie becomes a finished photo in about 20 seconds, with a free preview before you pay a cent. The whole flow — including payment and print-sheet download — works one-handed on a phone.

  • Value 3

    Honestly economical

A pharmacy counter charges $14.99–$17.99 for two prints. We charge $2.99 for the HD digital file plus a print-ready sheet you can print anywhere for pennies — and we publish exactly how to do it, retailer by retailer.
